Is it normal for air to blow out continuously when the spray gun is powered on?

Yes, the motor continuously provides air through the nozzle to blow away surface dust before paint is triggered.

Pre-Dusting Airflow Mechanism

Yes, this is completely normal and intended by design. When powered on, the turbine motor runs constantly to deliver a steady airflow through the air cap. This serves to blow away microscopic dust particles and debris from the workpiece surface before painting.

Paint Dispensing Only on Trigger Pull

Paint will only be drawn up and atomized when you pull the trigger backwards. If paint discharges without pulling the trigger, turn off the tool immediately and check whether the nozzle alignment tab is improperly seated or the needle spring is jammed.
